Remember that boats are designed to displace water from the outside, and
not handle weight from snow ( especially wet snow) from inside to out.
With that said- if you don't cover your boat then be prepared to get out
there after a snowstorm with a plastic bucket to scoop out the snow,
before it freezes or rains. Also make sure that your boat is leveled so
that water will drain out from the deck scuppers and the bilge. Another
reason to shrink wrap a pilothouse ( or any boat). When it rains, water
gets into spaces such as deck fittings, etc. If it freezes, there is
expansion- which could ultimately damage the boat over time.

I occasionally got up on it and shoveled it off.
Preference is to cover it. Gets very slippery, and
snow that melts in cockpit can turn to ice easily.
