I also have the chrome vent that is flush......

Anyway..... working on a couple of options.... I'm going to do a test with the
wife splashing buckets of water toward the vent to see how much water gets in.

I have the new style vent that Parker is using, it is flush mounted to the
hull and is a chrome version, not the black plastic kind that stick out...if
that makes any difference..
and I have been in seas that I had to trim the bow down all the way and keep
the wipers on for an hour at a time....

George,

Have you been out in seas for long lengths of time where your were
continuously in a 3 to 4 foot head sea and really getting things wet? Do you
have a Racor or other similar system to check after every outing?

I've checked the gas at the pump the best I can and as far as I can tell
there is no water being pumped into the tank..... the filler cap has a good
tight seal...... I'm convinced it is the vent.....

My opening in the vent is pointing downward and I assume this is the correct
position.

Richard

I have a 2004 2520 XL with 200 hours and I have not experienced any fuel
vent problems at all...

My dealer has told me he is experiencing a problem with customers
getting seawater into the gas tank via the vent. Evidently the
problem is so common for him he has had a "shoe type cover" machined
to fit over the vent to install on the hull to prevent this problem.
Has anybody experienced this circumstance? I have not and fish
whenever I can in all conditions fishable.
