Let me throw out here that I am very happy with the F225 on my 2520 XL..... in the bay...... in the creeks..... and I've made about 8 trips offshore with trips between 70 and 160 miles. (there are sometimes I wished I had more power.... but I didn't need it.... and I'm glad I'm not paying for it) If you do not have "go fast needs" I don't see where you will get any advantage from the F250..... the F225 will all you need........ unless you like to push the envelope in marginal conditions such as greater than 4 foot following seas in inlets I think you will need no more than the F225...... also keep in mind the F250 is in it's first full year of testing on the open market.
