2520 dvsc Diesel... Performance data? Anyone own one?

I have a 2530 with a 240 HP Yanmar with Bravo 2 X which should be similar +- 1 GPH and +- 5 MPH. I cruise at 2750 RPMs @ 6.75 GPH making 20 KTS. Top Speed is around 30 KTS @ 3400 RPMs. Recommended running speed is 3000 RPMs which gets me 23.5 KTS @ around 7 GPH.

    Diesel dv sc 2520

I have a 98 2530 with 240HP Yanmar and Bravo 2x. Cruise is 20kts at 2750 RPM at 6.75GPH, 23kts at 3000RPM at 7GPH. I was told to run this engine at 3000 but I like the way the boat rides at 2750. Max RPMs is 3450.

    I/O vs outboard power

I love my I/O Parker. My 2530 I/O rides better than a 2520 with a single 250 Yamaha. More weight down low and forward with the I/O. I leave my outdrive down under from March through December and only rub off the growth once half way through the season. 11 years and no problems to report.

    DMF CARPET from NU-TEAK

Sully, Thanks for the tip. I am going to look into this product for my 2530. I have been looking for a non-skid solution for my 2530 cabin floor and this looks ideal. At $8/sf, I think I can do the cabin for around $200. Brian

HELP!! Need advise on I/O motor.

As a owner of a 2530 I/O for 11 years, I agree for the most part with GW's analysis. The only area I would disagree is whether the boat can sit in the water for long periods. My boat goes in the first week of March and gets hauled the first week in December. Once or twice during the season, I...

    Rough ride, Leaking windshields

I have a 1998 and even my fixed Windshield on the passenger side leaks in very rough seas. I think the components of the Window assembly need to be taken apart and re-seated/re-sealed every 8-10 years.

1990 25 sport cabin too slow, need ideas

Scrapple, If that speed was 20 Nautical MPH or KTS then I don't think that is too bad. I would repower with new I/O (engine and outdrive). Mercruiser 5.7 300 HP/Bravo III is about $19k installed with a 3 year warrantee. You may get another 2-3 KTS cruising speed. Good luck.

Need more speed 1990 25 sc I/O Any ideas?

I did some research in converting my 25' I/O to O/B and the numbers did not add up. I am very glad I repowered with a new I/O. I have sailed on O/B 25' Parkers and I can tell you that the I/O 25' Parkers have a better ride because of the extra weight down low. I would say a new Mercruiser...

Need advice on a used 2530

I have a 1998 2530 DV originally with a 5.7 Mercruise Duopro. I repowered with a Yanmar 240HP/Bravo II X. If that is the original engine, you be looking at a repower in the relatively near future. If it is not freshwater cooled, you may need to repower very soon after buying. I know the price...

Where do you do your boating?

We sail out of Seaford, New York by Seamans Island and normally run out Jones Inlet.
