Parker owner thinking about Eastern 27 Tournament

You can get a hard-door as an option, but I kinda like the open back with curtains. I did take a test ride on their “pond” up in NH and it definitely handles differently than my 2510XLD. My biggest concern is the ride - I don’t want to go backwards for rough water handling (head sea and...

Parker owner thinking about Eastern 27 Tournament

Anyone have opinions on the newer Eastern 27 series (Islander/Tournament)? I lIke the wider beamed Eastern 27 Tournament layout and creature comforts (separate head, etc.) while still being simple to maintain. The factory is less than a hour away from me too. Any thoughts, good or bad?

Use sealant on Armstrong bracket zinc?

Replacing the zinc on the underside of my Armstrong bracket, using a Camp R2 rudder style. Should I use a little sealant (Life caulk) on the thread? I don’t want the bracket to leak but I also don’t want to block any metal to metal contact. Or am I overthinking this?

    Suspension seat ideas?

I have a 2510 as well. Only issue with low profile seaspension is that the post takes away space underneath the helm box. Worse on passenger side since that’s the livewell. You can mount SmoothMoves above the box entirely. I’m also looking at AirWave which seems more rugged and has more...

    Cav plate cracking again!

Yes, 3 Blade Enertia (not the Eco) 15x15. But I run twin f150s so you might run a different size & pitch on your motor. Ken will sort you out.

    Cav plate cracking again!

I called Ken and he set me up with Mercury Enertia props. They provide lift, lower planing speed and better efficiency than my Reliance props. I originally was going 4 blade Powertechs but followed his advice, glad I did. Expensive props but well worth it for me.

Hot off the press: New 26CC

I think they did a good job with this model. Lots of storage and in-deck fish boxes from the new construction design. Composite build looks beefy. Not sure if it’s three piece and that battery selector placement probably not a great idea - but mine is in the bilge which also isn’t a great...

    Battery Switch 1/2/Both with Twins

Ok, so I can skip the ACR/BEP complication because I basically have a built-in ACR on each engine, right? Since I have twins, do I run the aux cable from EACH engine to a single HOUSE battery? What kind/how big should that house battery be (have two Deka 27 wet cell starting batts now). Trying...

    Battery Switch 1/2/Both with Twins

Guys, that BEP install looks great! But I am a complete newbie on stuff like this. Any recommended books/resources for an electrical novice to undertake something like this? What would be the typical install price if I paid for it?

    Battery Switch 1/2/Both with Twins

I have twin f150s with two Guest 1/2/Both/Off switches. Radar, VHF, stereo, MFD, baitwell. Have two Deka 27m6 cranking batteries (technically they are dual purpose). Anyway, I usually just keep port battery switch on #1 and the starboard switch to #2. I can see the voltages going up to +/-14.4V...

    Permatrim - looking for feedback

Maybe they should spec larger aft bolts for that reason? Would be an easy modification.

    Permatrim - looking for feedback

That's great - but you may have achieved a similar result with a stern-lifting prop. I got there with an Enertia recommended by Ken @ propgods but I was limited because I run F150s. You can try a lot more props with an F250 since it can swing a bigger prop. Merc Enertia's, Rev 4s (4 blade)...

    Permatrim - looking for feedback

Ok, Ken from Propgods top recommendation was Merc Enertia’s 15x15 but they were unavailable so we ordered Powertech SCE4‘s instead. But last minute a pair of 15 Enertia’s popped up so Ken sent me those - he included Rubex hubs and said they shift softer than the Flo-torq. Said Merc props are...

putrid odor in my 2510 holding tank area

I’ve had the same issue on my 2510. I found pumping out the holding tank, filling it with fresh water, and then pumping it out again solves the odor problem. Especially after the winter holdover when some of the pink stuff sits in there. That little tank can stink at times! I also spray...
