Not sure if thats the right lingo, but i am planning on adding some electronics into the helm box area. does anyone know how thick the fiberglass is? Do most people mount a wood board to the inside and then mount electronics to that? I dont want screws going through.

the starboard side is ok to go through as you cant see it, but the port side of the steering helm box looks like it needs a board to mount onto.

The top is about a solid inch. Screw away
Took a look today, its almost 1 inch in certain reinforced parts. the side walls are 1/4 thin so if i mount there i need to put some ply wood up on it and maybe paint it.

We will see how much space i need. May be tight with autopilot, Structure scan box, ri10 for radar, etc..
