Since it has been raining a lot here in Florida I did a bunch of maintenance on our 2520. New SS thru-hulls, pluming, livewell pump, fuel vent, wasndown pump, engine water pump, thermostats, spark plugs, filters, O2 sensor cleaning, gear grease, buffing and waxing just to mention a few.
Can't remember the last time my engine cover was off but I found a broken linkage end that left the oil injector at full volume. On our last outing it did use a lot of oil but we also burned a lot of gas since the water was calm and we were able to cover a lot of water at higher speeds. Never really noticed a lot of smoke, oil used is Pennzoil synthetic blend, spark plugs were black! The engine has been so dependable I really do not take the cover off unless there is an issue, guess that needs to change, huh. I know this is probably old news but I also included a pic.
