I been installing the racor filter wrong for 25 years. In the picture there are 3 0 rings that they give you. I called and spoke to the mechanics only to find out that small o-ring goes over the threads on the housing. Without it , your not filtering the gas 100 percent.

yep I understand. My fuel flow meter was installed incorrectly and corrected it a few years along with battery wing nuts are stupid

For my RACOR I have a clear bowl under the filter which has an O ring so I use all 3 during a filter swap out

Funny but true. Inline fuses should be band on boats unless they are in cabin.

I am not the smartest guy and didn't understand why the little gasket was needed since the filter is screwed on the shaft.

Gas from the tank come out from inside the thread and without that o ring half the gas is leaking out not being filtered.

Ok thank you
still cant wrap my head around it

fyi

A filter bowl should last for
many years, but bowl replacement
is necessary when signs of material
breakdown are observed. For
example, bowls manufactured before
the availability of E10 gasoline (those
without a “PUR or Z” mark) should be
replaced.
