I was told by the local dealer that a new 2530dv twin f150's would be able to cruise at 30mph and would have a top speed of 47mph (trimmed out and light 50mph). It has yamaha 3 blade ss props. Top speed not being much of a concern, but is the cruising speed accurate???

I would think that a cruise speed of ~24 knots would be reasonable.

Yeah, I can hit 40knots with a medium load with F200's but as pelagic said, you can rarely run those speeds because of sea conditions.

But on those rare FAC days it is nice to put the coals to her. 8)

My 2520 MVSC tops out at 34 knots (loaded) on a FAC day with a single 225 OX66.
Fuel burn at that speed is an indicated 25 gph.

Be interesting to compare you boat with John_Madison Ct's boat.

Both basically the same. One a mod vee and the other a deep vee.

I would cruise anywhere from 28 to 35 in my 2530 with twin 225s. So its definately possible. If you can handle it it runs a little better a little faster than you think is comfortable. I recommend the seaspension seat too. Id say your cruise will be 25 to 35 with twin 150s and mid 40s wot.
