The start to the spring Rockfish trophy season was a slow one last Saturday 4/15, Only heard of a few caught, thinking they are still up in the rivers spawning. Yesterday 4/18 I fished the afternoon with two buddy's at the mouth of the Chester River. All was slow until the magic hour (the hour before sunset),. We landed a 41", and a friend fishing a 1/2 mile away picked up a 44", both between 6:45-7:00 PM. The one we caught had already spawned with no eggs left in its belly, so thankfully we took it home to share between the 3 family's. My buddy Jeff makes a big fat fish look not so big and fat
