Things are starting to get better on the reefs out front of MI. Picked up these beauties yesterday on whole squids. 22" and 23". Conditions were sloppy and not many boats around. Hopefully this is just the start and we have 6 weeks of good fluking until the close in early September.

Brent,

I fish out of Point Pleasant, NJ. MI stands for Manasquan Inlet. I typically fluke fish on the Sea Girt Reef or Axel Carlson Reef. Both reefs are a few miles outside of the inlet.

Caught them on a 4 oz bucktail w/ teaser hook. Bucktail tipped w/ a 6" gulp grub and teaser had a whole squid. Next outing I'm going to add a stinger hook since a bunch of the squids got bit in half.

I use a Sliding hook rig for whole squid 2 hooks and 1 slides depending on the length of squid.
Found them in Montaulk,N.Y. Reely Nauti turned me on to them..They do produce larger flounder
