Mine runs best with motor all the way down. I also use trim tabs when getting it out of the hole.

I have a 115 on mine, and with your description is of a fishing day, you Should definitely get the 150 with trim tabs. Great little boats! Good luck.

I have the 23se with a 250 Yamaha 4-stroke. I’m glad I went with the larger engine. I get 3.8 mpg at 3300rpm running 30mph. At 4200rpm it’s about 2.8 mpg going 35mph. Wide open is 5500/5600 going right at 50mph. All of those numbers are with a full tank/95 gallons.

I’ve replaced a lot of those screws as well because of the same issue. Some of the screws I was able to peel the coating off and reuse. It might look good when it leaves the factory, but it wasn’t a good idea (along with the plastic cup/rod holders). Boat has been great otherwise.

I have a 23se with the 250 Yamaha 4-stroke with fly-by-wire controls. I think it’s perfect motor on this boat. With full fuel, I get 3.5 miles per gallon at 3500 rpm/30mph. At 4100rpm/34mph I get about 3mpg. I like your idea to raise the transom up to 30” also.

I just added the 10 ft blade on my 23se. I was hesitant at first about putting one on, but after using a few times I know I made the right choice. I fish inshore 75% of the time, so I will get my money out of it.

The 21 se will handle both of those with ease. Great boat, had one for 8 years. The trim tabs are a must. Are you gonna go with the f150 or f200?
