When I puchased my boat the interior carpet was moldy and salty like you said. I rented a carpet/ upolstery steam cleaner (the units they rent at Shaws). It incorperates a wet vac. The thing worked great. Made short work of the project.

I had great luck with a carpet/ upolstry machine that you can rent at the supermarket. It is a wet vacuum system that sprays and vacuums at the same time. I added a small amount of simple green to the water tank. Boat smells great and it was fairly easy to do. Made short work of a lot of mold.

Ryan, I couldn't agree more with these guys, we bought our Parker for the kids. We have a three year old and a one year old. Both girls love the boat and love to anchor off the beach and swim in (With life jackets on). As far as fishing goes, maybe take a season off until your child is older...
