    25 SE fuel tank

That looks great. I was confused then. I was thinking bed liner/rhino spray or whatever that is. I plan to sell the boat in the next 12-18 months anyway. I figure she should be good for at least 10-15 more years. I want a Downeast.

Warthog, I was going to have it sprayed on. I just want the boat back.

    25 SE fuel tank

I should have. But it would have added a week or so to the project. Tuna are biting and I am hauled out. I want to catch the last 6 weeks of the season before I get weathered in. Thinking about going Downeast in the next 2-3 years. I just need the space and range now.

Going back together. Foam being applied. Glass and gelcoat Monday.

    25 SE fuel tank

The boat yard doing the work hasn't decided on how they will install the new tank. They did say there was 3-4 gallons of water in the sealed compartment....I guess it's sealed in case of a fuel leak it wont travel to the bilge? I just think there has to be a better way....

Here is the tank out. I feel that foaming these tanks in is the easy way out and I wish they used a better system to fasten them in. I think they would last much longer.

    Fuel Tanks Leak

I am having one made locally. Indeed it was foamed in and the corrosion has started. I am way more surprised a baffle inside let go....

    Fuel Tanks Leak

John, I am curious to know the make model of the 10 year old you speak off. My 2501 fuel tank just had a baffle let go. Absolute piss poor craftsmanship on mine. The welds are shoddy. I called Parker and they no longer use that manufacturer. I wonder why?

    25 SE fuel tank

For anyone interested, here is the first phase of the project. Hoping to have the tank removed today for a new one to be built.

    25 SE fuel tank

The plan is to pump the fuel to re-use yes. Other than that. New tank, new deck, fresh glass and gel-coat. All new fasteners. They did a little damage getting console up and also noticed around the T-Top flanges were damp in the deck. Maybe a small blessing in disguise to get it all fixed...

And so it begins. Console and T-Top are off. Files are to big. Anyone know how to shrink the photos?

    25 SE fuel tank

Warthog, You make all valid points. My only justification is I don't want to spend the money.....Your recommendations on the tank fabrications are all noted and I think I will follow that advice. I have to ask for the fuel at half throttle when filling due to the back ups. Where else to vent...

    25 SE fuel tank

My only option now is to have one locally fabricated. Most places are a week to 10 days out. My whole thing was if Parker had a unit in stock it would save me time and back in the water quicker. I did call Parker direct. They are nice enough people and I do feel the boats are for the most part...

    25 SE fuel tank

So in dealing with Riverfront, and Parker, Parker is taking no responsibility or ownership for this failed baffle. As I expected, I am 100% on my own to fix etc. I must say, I will never purchase another Parker or recommend one - I love my boat, it's size, it's sea keeping ability and while...

    25 SE fuel tank

To follow up on the we can see and move the baffle. It's laying on the bottom of the tank. Appears to have bent the pick up tube which explains the lack of RPM's at high end. I am calling Parker tomorrow. Seems to me a serious lack of workmanship. 10 year old boat and this is happening...

    25 SE fuel tank

I hope so! :D My technician said it's made for gas and oil tanks....He will be the one operating the camera. On another note, I called the dealer today Riverfront, and Service says, they have never heard of a baffle letting go.

There is also another pick up. Assuming the tank was built for single and dual engine applications. The port pick up is terminated.

    25 SE fuel tank

I replaced the sending unit last year with the factory recommended Wema(I think) The gauge appears to be functioning properly. We are going to pull apart the pick up Tuesday and send a mini camera down there and explore. My fear is a baffle broke free and I will have to rip it all apart and...

    25 SE fuel tank

I am not certain. At higher RPM's yesterday she wanted to choke out and I would loose RPM's. I can feel something at my feet and when I removed the access hatch it was more evident. The sea trial today she kept good RPM's. I am lost.
