Looking for tuna door catch and cockpit light

Hi, 2020 2520xlsc I am doing my end of season maintenance and I noticed that the small round light above the step in the cockpit going up to the gunwale is cracked and I want to replace it. Anyone know where to get it or model number and manufacturer. Also the magnetic catch for the tuna door at...

    Impeller change interval

I have a 2021 Yamah 300 HP 2021 with about 125 hours. The manual says to change the impeller at 300 hours. I am looking for input from others to see if doing it sooner is advisable.

    Amazing, 2022 2830 XLD. $310,000.00

As a friend of mine once said, "The more components you put in a boat the more issues you will eventually have." I bought my Parker with the bare minimum to go fishing and not fixing things. The sea keeper may make it better for the roll. but I doubt the "Parker slam" is made better. At that...

Need Auto pilot repairs and possible steering upgrade?

There can be a number of reasons for your issue. I am only familiar with Garmin. They had an issue with their units a while back. It had to do with the pump and the symptoms sound like yours. There was a fix, and it required replacing a couple of the connections. In some instances it required a...

    Yamaha Command Line NEMA/MFD split

I have a Simrad and a Yamaha on another boat. My setup required a plug from the Yamaha buss to a gateway and from the gateway to the NMEA backbone. Every manufacturer wants to make money along the way. Quite frankly after all was said and done I rely on the Yamaha module more than the info on...

    Cracked Welds

Did they tell you about how much damage will most likely happen from the rewelding? Short of having the entire t-top redone, maybe taping it off on either side of the weld and then a matching epoxy paint brushed on.

NSS 9 EVO3S Flush Mount clearance.

Someone needs to tell me how to put in an auto guidance route. On the Garmin I just press on the screen where I want to go, hit auto guidance and bam I have the route. I am new to the Simrad and here is what I have to do: Waypoints>New Route>Use Chart>Touch Chart near boat> Find destination on...

    Thinking about adding autopilot

I have cruised over 9,500 nautical miles. All I can say it can be a split second difference between being okay and running into something. Of course speed makes a difference. When at the helm and something is coming at you the natural instinct is to turn immediately, not taking your eyes away...

    Thinking about adding autopilot

Yes, unless it is installed properly it can be an issue. The location and mounting are critical to proper operation.

NSS 9 EVO3S Flush Mount clearance.

A bit off topic, but if I were buying a chartplotter I would go with Garmin. I have a Garmin in one boat and a Simrad in another. I hate the Simrad. The Garmin is so much more user friendly. As an example: On the Garmin when you want to do auto routing you can just touch your destination. and...

    Thinking about adding autopilot

Whatever model you choose stay with Garmin. My experience is that once you go with different brands and components and an issue arises you start to get finger pointing between manufacturers. I also suggest that along with AP you install the shadow drive. The shadow drive allows you to just turn...

    Yamaha and Garmin networking

I always like to see fuel remaining and on the Garmin once connected to the yamaha you can get an info box showing that info. This way I get the chartplotter, sonar and engine info I want all on one screen.

    Yamaha and Garmin networking

I hooked up using the J39 I get fuel remaining at a glance without having to do math. What I found though is that you have to have the Garmin on before starting the engine to get accurate readings. Also, it is important with either configuration to go to the engine page and add fuel or fill...

    Trim tab zincs

I'm circling back on this. Here are my thoughts. For electrolysis type of corrosion to happen, stray current has to be present and this usually happens when plugged into ac at a dock. Hence, bonding of metal components and the use of sacrificial metals is imperative. Now if two dissimilar metals...

    Wax applicator

I usually use Collinite hull cleaner, which is a light grit compound. I pour some on a foam pad and use the buffer. Then I wipe it off with a rag. Wax I apply by hand, use a wool pad to buff and finish off by hand.

    Trailer advice

Weight capacity is fine. As others have said maintenance is in order. If you are going to do any real towing I would check out the date of the tires and service the bearings, seals and races. To check the tire date there is a DOT code: The first two numbers of this grouping indicate the week of...

    Trim tab zincs

I keep my 25 Parker on a mooring ball, hence no shore power. I find it unusual that at the end of every season that my zincs are pretty well depleted and gone at times. Anyone else have the same issue? Not sure why that happens. I never had an issue on other boats.
