    Identify My 2520

Your boat looks identical to mine, which is a 2520SL with one exception, you have the x2 strakes as in DV and my boat is a MV…

Fuel Tank Failure in Parker Boats

My opinion on why Parker fuel tanks fail are the pry out pie plate inspection ports that Parker puts in the deck above the fuel tank. Unless those pry out are replaced with Armstrongs or semi permanently sealed with silicone or some other sealant, they all LEAK and the fuel tank has salt &...

Seeking advice on repowering a 2001 2300 dvcc

No boat today, did 3 days in a row but about to make some calamari from a haul of squid we caught on Saturday Night. No one understand your 7,000 mile situation better then I, hopefully your travel is for recreational purposes but if not my sympathies. I did the sea bag drag professionally for...

Seeking advice on repowering a 2001 2300 dvcc

When I repowered , I switched insurance companies not because my old insurance company wouldn’t insure my boat but because they only used a random book value which was not more then 65% of what the boat was actually worth on the used market. I switched to an insurance company that would insure...

Seeking advice on repowering a 2001 2300 dvcc

That a popular missive that is parroted by someone in various forms on almost every repower related thread that I have ever read. Yes I have insurance, yes the hull# and engine serial # and horsepower are printed on my policy and I was never questioned about it when I changed my coverage after...

Seeking advice on repowering a 2001 2300 dvcc

There is no physical difference in terms of size or weight between the Suzuki or Yamaha 250 and the 300 and not a big difference in price between 250 & 300 HP. I should confess that I’m not one to get hung up on “placards” so take that into consideration regarding my opinion and T that opinion...

    2520XLD Anchor and chain

Agree, there is big difference between anchoring when it would be convenient for the anchor to hold vs you need the anchor to hold. My anchoring is almost exclusively for fishing and typically in water never deeper then about 35’ and I am frequently solo which depending on the wind & current...

    Suzuki DF250AP 2023. 1999 2320 no bracket Turning Point 4X15x15

It was 5 years ago, small volume dealership who didn’t sell a lot of engines. I suspect they were looking for some Winter work and beat all my other quotes. No big crime, I swapped to the 16 in under a year and have a spare if I ever need a propeller asap. Lesson learned to do my homework...

    Suzuki DF250AP 2023. 1999 2320 no bracket Turning Point 4X15x15

I couldn’t agree with you more. I was GUILTY of not doing enough research on propellers before I repowered my 2005 Parker 2520SL with a white 2019 Suzuki DF300APXX. No bracket, 30” leg on notched transom. Dealership put on a 15.25” x 19 Watergrip that did what it was supposed to in terms of...

    Hi

Could be a few things with the raw water washdown. Depending on type of pump, it may have disconnects on the hoses for both intake and output sides of the pump. If the boat was “winterized” those hoses should have been disconnected which would have allowed the pump to drain to prevent freeze...

    Factory Rod Holders

I troll for Tuna frequently using the stock rod holders in my 2005 Parker 2520 SL with 50s and have boated many fish with the rod in the holder for the last part of the fight. No giants but many 60-100lb fish. No problems at all. Can’t speak for newer boats but on my year of Parker, the cap...
