Welcome to VA!
I live over on the Eastern Shore so if you are heading out to fish over this side let me know. (no traffic here compared to Chesapeake)
Irene has upset our weekend but not bad.
Tidalfish is the best fishing forum for the area.
I get my marine forcasts here...
Have tried running on an auxiliary tank bypassing all the problems that might be associated with the inboard tank and had the same problem... not the vent :(

The needle and float valve seemed perfect when I had the VST tank off and inspected and cleaned and all filters changed... along with the low pressure fuel pump.
But... when it cuts out it will only start when pumping more fuel into the system... acting like and suggesting to me the VST tank has emptied... which is counter-intuitive when watching the voltmeter suggest to me the pump stays running when it shouldn't...
Now.. if it stays running because it...
Dale... Not under warranty...
What I don't understand is why the symptoms of VST tank empty when the LP fuel pump seems to run more than it should... not less???? Inquiring minds...
Thanks

Hey Folks... haven't been posting for awhile but I've been lurking and boating and fishing and trying to get to the bottom of a problem that has been around for a year now. I've posted this over on The Hull Truth... here is the cut and paste:

Just picked up a Yamaha fuel bulb for a very high local price.
I've been inspecting fuel lines and connections. Inspected the anti siphon valve and deemed it normal. I've changed all filters.
Now I'm waiting on my water pump kit from Andy and I'm hoping to get out Wednesday for a test run.
Yes... it ran dry for a very short time about 40 hours ago. I was offshore and had some line tangled up in the prop. I tilted the engine up to use a knife duct taped to a pole and left the engine running.... a bit longer than I anticipated. I'm sure that is when it happened.
I always change...
Symptoms..... noticed there seemed to be a weaker stream and had a couple of overheat alarms at idle that went away quickly as soon as I increased RPM. Never had a problem running at speed.
Here is what I found: The material in the outlet channel is hard welded plastic.
I'm glad I...
Thanks for all the suggestions.
I'm formulating a troubleshooting list.... I'll get it.
Right now I'll be waiting on my waterpump kit to arrive.... see other thread.
Mine has been horizontal since I've had the boat... hmmmm....
So today I'm into tearing into things..... I'm refusing to take this to a shop where it will sit... I'm a smart guy.. I can do this... right?
So now this is what I find looking at other things..
I've noticed a couple of times I've...
