    Photos from Annapolis Raftup

Once again Capt Kevin dialed up some great weather. There were 6 Parkers (one left before the photos), 1 float tube, and my boat (a Gheenoe Classic). The camaraderie and refreshments were outstanding. I appreciate being allowed to participate even though I am now a former Parker owner...

The 4th annual Classic Parker Annapolis Rendezvous!

Kevin - I hope to get there with my "larval stage Parker"-- a mere 15'6" and 225 lb white fiberglass hull and twin engines (9.9-hp Yamaha and Minnkota trolling motor). Plus a fishing cockpit of about 20 sq ft. This boat is a fishing machine, described last weekend by another...

    new to the Parker family

Gary - Congratulations on buying a great boat. I enjoyed that boat for 7 seasons. I hope you have many enjoyable years with it. I was the second owner of the boat. Tri-State Marine loaned/gave a new boat to light-tackle guide Richie Gaines each year. That was his 2001 boat. I bought it...

    What's Yer Boatcamera ?

There are very few true waterproof cameras. Someone mentioned the Nikonos, which is a long-standing model of waterproof camera used for diving. I used one in 1977 while on vacation diving in the Keys. What is more practical and affordable for boating use is a water-resistant camera. These...

Organized storage inside 23SE Center Cosnole?

When I had a 23 SE, I used two large coolers tied into the bow area as dry storage and additional seating capacity. By getting life jackets and spare lines out of the console, I could keep 12 two-piece spinning rods, a large tackle box, rubbermaid tackle storage bin, toolbox, spare gallon of...

    Parker spotted in Newfoundland

I just completed a long weekend in St Johns, Newfoundland. Yesterday and today I rented a car. Around noon today, I had just finished a 20-mile drive across a pothole-laden and partially ice-covered gravel road through the middle of a peninsula. I arrived at the town of Placentia, not far...

    Noodling for catfish anyone?

I agree with you -- it looks like a whale shark. They are plankton eaters. I think the story is a myth.

    150 yamaha which is best

I ran a 2001 200-hp HPDI engine on my Parker 23 SE for 7 seasons. I put about 600 hours on the engine. It performed flawlessly for me the whole time. I averaged 3 miles/gal too. I sold the boat in late August 2008. Reportedly, the new buyer experienced engines troubles shortly after...

    Pirates

10 years ago I visited Canaima National Park in Venezuela. One day we rode 4 hours upstream in 30' long wooden canoe-like boats powered by similar Yamaha Enduro motors. The guides carried a spare motor inside the boat. They had some of the most remarkable boat handling skills I ever...

    Wanted: fishfinder/GPS

I posted last weekend that I had purchased another very small boat to replace my 23 SE. The boat is an open skiff design with no electronics. I would like a modest priced fishfinder/GPS unit. I certainly don't need anything real high-tech. If any of you have older units that you have...

It's definitely not a Parker, but I have a new ride

I have seen photos of many other anglers standing up in the boat for fishing and for running from spot to spot. They actually offer a poling platform as an option. Giving my height and weight, that would be too much for me, but I will certainly try standing to cast in sheltered waters.

It's definitely not a Parker, but I have a new ride

As many of you know, I sold my trusty Parker 23 SE around Labor Day. After visiting the Annapolis boat show last weekend, my boating juices got flowing again. Yesterday I pulled the trigger and drove to Cobbs Creek, VA to pick up my new ride. Unlike the Parker, this boat has two motors, a full...

How Shallow can you go? – 23’ CC question

My 23 SE would run at depths as shallow as 1.5 ft. Then the motor skeg would start to bottom out. I never got the hull stuck, but I suspect it would go into less than 1 ft. I can't help you with a 23 CC.
