    Towing 1801

For years I had a Tahoe which didn’t even know a boat was back there. But I needed to downsize once kids left. Did Honda Pilot for a few years but it was. “ squirelly” on anything but good ramps- ie our beach has a dirt ramp and the Pilot could not match the Tahoe there. Now have VW...

Trolling motor install on Parker 1801

I thought about the slide also- but decided to avoid additional hardware and gadgets to snag my fly line. Turns out it was unnecessary for me.. Yes…. Accessed 1/4” through bolts with big fat washers via the anchor locker and some “braille” to feel the bolts etc

    Windlass problems!

Agree with above. The”little red arm” is the circuit breaker lever that you are resetting. The circuit breaker is doing its job protecting your circuit from overload. It is tripping because you have a problem- either a mechanical jam or electrical/ wiring issue which you now need to troubleshoot.

    Broken Skeg

Agree with skeg guard…. I do a lot of shallow saltwater striped bass fishing and have banged a few big rocks- good insurance and will correct your small defect. Easy to install.

    Deck cleaning?

You can use “non slippery” deck wax (Starbrite, McKee’s, or Woody wax) but I use a thin coat of regular hull wax and it seems fine.

    Deck cleaning?

I would avoid abrasive cleaners like Soft Scrub. I did use it on my last boat often and it removed the gel coat from the raised “tips” of the non skid giving it a permanent peppered look. I agree with most above- good cleaning with soap, a little bleach, or Starbrite. Then wax the deck. I use...

    Rust on new boat

I guess that is the cost of staying competitive? My Parker 2006 has minimal to no rust in comparison except on the stern towing eyes which I can’t easily remove and re-bed.

    First boat - Parker 1801

Welcome….. have same boat/ motor since ‘06. Going strong…. Lots of fun and fish. Get a cover for your motor if you don't have one- keeps that motor shiny!

    1801 Questions

I too replaced the baitwell seat combo on my 18. It was not useful to me as a fly fisherman, and it was dark, damp, deep, and a very heavy item. Replaced with a lighter weight and more functional cooler flip seat actually purchased from a from a member on this site.

    23se trolling motor mounting

I am not an expert on this but just slightly larger to allow for an epoxy cuff- go up a drill size or two -thats all. A two part epoxy is what I use. You don’t usually need a filler mixed in for small holes. Pelagic- accurate points yes. I was under the (incorrect) assumption that all Parker...

    23se trolling motor mounting

You don’t need a backing plate for bow mount on Parkers IMO. Just use oversized SS washers and locknuts. When drilling through deck surface or bow cap the proper sequence would be to over drill each hole, put tape under each, and fill with epoxy- not 4200. Let dry 24hrs and then re-drill with...

Charger to front wall of console. Added a few air vents to make sure their was adequate circulation of battery gasses too.

Trolling motor install on Parker 1801

Yes and yes. Bolted to the very strong front deck with 1/4” SS bolts and fat washers- accessed via the anchor locker and some reaching. Solid construct.
