I give my deck a light scrub with any soap - I use Joy 'cause it lathers in salt water. This gets the greasy stuff off the surface. Follow up with any straight bleach (dollar store) - in a spray bottle for small spots and a paint tray/roller for large areas. Let it sit for a while, then hose it...

My rule of thumb is: If you've got a pretty boat and don't have far to go, aluminum and torsion is the ticket. If you beat the daylights out of your trailer and have a long way to travel (we went 14,000 miles r/t to Alaska and back) then steel (galvanized) and springs will be your best bet.

I fought the centering/level thing for a long time, but finally learned the trick. The closer your main bunks are, the better your boat will center/level. I used guides and pads and rollers to try to get the boat centered and level but never got the same results twice - often backing back down...
