    tackle station on 25XL

Anyone removed the companion seat off the storage compartment and mount a tackle station there on top where the seat was? No one ever sits in the seat behind pilots seat anyway and I could use that space for a tackle station. Anyone have any pics of what they might have done there? Thanks.

    gas leak 225F 2003

When I shut off the motor on launch day I had gas steadily dripping from above the injectors. Had it happen a couple of years ago and have been fine until the other day. When I talked to my local Yammy tech two years ago, he told me it was the valve sticking that is supposed to relieve pressure...

    washdown pump replacement/ 2004 XL

My washdown pump is shot and I'm asking if any of you found a better place for it and if you replaced it with the same pump or upgraded to something else. It lasted 5-6 seasons before totally rotting out. Kind of a tough spot they put it.

current twic card not needed to renew OUPV license

Might be old news for you guys, but I just read the new CG policy about TWIC cards at OUPV license renewal time. If you are registered in the TWIC system you won't have to show proof of a current TWIC card anymore to renew your OUPV license. If you have never had a TWIC you will still have to go...

    RPM jumping from 8-1400

Last week running four knots through the harbor, my rpms were jumping around varying 2-300rpms. I've changed the plugs since which looked pretty normal. I changed the 10 micron raycor and it did have about half shotglass of water and some small debris in it. After changing plugs and raycor, at...

    225F Yamaha exhaust corrosion problem

A freind just spent $3600 on repairing rotted out exhaust parts on his 225F. This prompted me to a search on THT to get some info and try to find out how big a problem this could be since I own an '04 XL with what is probably an '03 225F. My concern is that since these are pretty new engines...

    beware of suction cups

Being one to not like drilling holes and making perminent modifications without giving it much thought I opted to use a suction cup mounted hook/rig holder. After one season I noticed the suction cups were starting to turn orange and got tacky. When I removed them this is what I found. They must...

FishFactory, Mine does the same. I believe that's what you want, for it to come out the seam around the part of lower unit that houses the prop.

How many of you have had the valve check? I have been told before that adjustment is very rarely needed and the techs may do more damage than good trying to shim them. So at 600hrs. I've not had mine looked at yet. What about you?

drift fishing in mv vs dv

I own a 25XL and do alot of drift fishing and love the way I can keep my stern into the current which keeps my lines straight off the stern of the boat. I have the 16 degree deadrise. I fish a couple of freinds dv boats that almost always drift beam to sea (although they are not Parkers). You...

    cranking batteries vs. deep cell

I went to the marina today to replace my deep cycle batteries that came with my 2004 XL w/225F Yamaha. I was told by the Yamaha tech that deep cycle batteries were not recomended for my engine anymore. He said that was straight from Yamaha and had to do with the amount of amperage that these...
