    SiriusXM Marine Offshore

@Mpellet , how accurate do you find the SST maps to be? I can see that being worth its weight in gold for offshore canyon trolling, if it’s fairly up to date and accurate. Is there any sort of penalty for putting a pause on the account, other than just not being able to use it?

    Windlass Identification and Assistance

The relays should function as long as there’s control power, correct? On my installation, the windlass power cables run from the battery switches at the stern, with a resettable breaker right after the switch. The control power for the dash switch, going to the relays at the bow, comes from...

    Parker Font Boat Name

I’d delete the line over the “e”, and leave the line that’s attached to the “swoop” over the “a” but get rid of the little part that looks like it attaches the “a” to the line. If that makes sense.

    Trolling motor length?

Operationally, no. The deeper the better, it’ll keep the prop from coming out of the water in chop. The limiting factor is usually how long of a shaft will fit in your available space.

I work in a segment of the maritime industry in a fleet where we operate vessels that were built to both USN standards, and commercial standards. I can confidently state that there are USN-built ships out from the 80s and 90s that are in WAY better shape than the commercial-built ones from the...

Just repowered my 28 year old 2530 👍 Pretty good testament to the quality of these boats that there’s quite a lot of them still going strong after three decades.

    AGM Starting battery

The only one I’ve found is the Lifeline 2700T. GP27, 900 CCA/ over 1000 MCA. I have two for my F150 starting batteries, they work great, no issues.

    Factory pull up cleat

Can’t tell you if it’s the stock one, but I installed these on my 1700 and they’re great. Very smooth, very stout, a well made product.

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Yup. I got one of their last mounts for my 2530 project in 2021. The Scanstrut stainless mounts are nice as well, but they don’t have the built in angle, so a wedge is needed.

OPINION ON BEST GPS ELECTRIC TROLLING MOTOR FOR 2018 23SE

It's absolutely a viable option. Very popular addition these days for exactly what you're talking about." "The Best" will depend on a few things. Local dealer support, integration with electronics, etc. The two big ones are Minn Kota and Rhodan, both of which offer saltwater models with a...

Has anyone added an aftermarket t-top?

I'd agree with Warthog. I've never yet seen one of the aftermarket, one-size-fits-most, buy on the internet models that actually looks good when installed. Can't help you with a local top shop, but I can advise you not to go the other route.

    2300 DV bow storage insulated

What are you trying to do with them? Even if they're insulated, the lids don't create much of an airtight seal, and the insulation is probably spray foam at best. All in all, they're likely to be equal to or less effective than a mediocre cooler. If you're trying to keep ice in there for any...

Parker 2120, want to add a Garmin 126sv in the cabin

Can't give you any specific guidance as far as adding a screen goes, other than your best bet may be to add it to the overhead. The space on the 2120/2320 style console is tight without some major modifications, which can be found in some older threads on here. I will say that the addition of a...

Bennet Tabs on my 2300DV - Observations and ?'s

This is correct. Tabs will work fine but will stay in whatever position you last adjusted them to when the power is shut off. Another option is to connect the orange wire directly to the house fuse panel, rather than the key switch. That way, they won't auto retract when the key is shut off...

    Garmin Fantom Radar Question

Silverstreek is in the right way of thinking here. Generally speaking, when it comes to electronics, buy the most up to date models you can get. They come at a price premium, but will remain relevant, supportable, and will work with other upcoming electronic equipment for the longest possible...
