    S1000 Autopilot

Sommertime is exactly right. I have written a lot about the s1000 on this forum. I tried one and it's in a closet somewhere. If you are trying to troll or just plain old goin' slow and you are heading into a current or a headwind, it just quits. You save money by giving up the flux gate and...

    Skates

Went out to the CBBT last weekend with boat partner in hopes of catching some flounder. Put the rigs down and they were being hammered by something... Skates all over the surface and we soon figured out that they were the ones pestering our rigs. Boat partner hooked a good size one, but I had...

    Cobia tower

The new rage in Virginia Beach is little stand up towers on hardtops to help you spot cobia (and other fish, I guess, like black drum). Guys were using ladders, but the ever-present law enforcement started cracking down, so you see a lot of little simple tubing structures with, at most, a...

Maryland Anglers Required to Register with Feds Before Fishi

Not just MD. The NOAA site lists the states that require NOAA registration. Just how many ways can our government find to mess with our lives?

    Yamaha F225

Look at the Parker performance sheet for your boat and motor. That's what the motor should do. When boats are stored on the dealer's lot, they often remove props to prevent theft. When they sell the boat, they put a prop back on - the right one? Maybe. See what prop you have and then check...

    Re-hubbing Yamaha Prop

My cousin's husband has a GW with older Yamaha 250 2-stroke. A couple of weeks ago he spun the prop, fortunately close to home, and we towed him in. He took the stainless prop to the best prop guys in town and they re-hubbed it for him and, on myadvice, he bought a back-up aluminum prop. He...

    New Home for our Parker

After being on a waiting list for SIXTEEN YEARS we finally got a slip in the Virginia Beach city marina. Sixteen years... The municipal wheels turn slowly. And that was after frequent inquiries as to our standing on the list. It's a nice facility and the location is primo. Minutes to the...

New Guy from Delaware..but moving to Norfolk, VA.

Lots of Parkers here. The 2120 is a great boat. Spend some time around the CBBT and you will feel like you are in the Parker club. We have a long season - all year. Enjoy your boat!

type of anchor for my 2320 what do you recommend for the Bay

Fortress with lots of chain has worked well on my boat. I'm running 20+ feet of chain.

    Stubborn Deck Stains

If the bleach doesn't work, try acetone, but use it judiciously. That's what Parker told me to use to remove the excess sealant around stainless fittings. Worked like a champ.

    Trim tabs

The time has come to do something about the trim tabs on my 2320 sport cabin. Want to go bigger and more effective and I have seen the topic discussed a number of times. Tried searching the forum, but there's a lot of info out there. What is the collective wisdom on this topic? Can I keep my...

Did I see any of you guys?

I'm always amazed by the number of Parker pilot houses that have appeared around the CBBT in the past couple of years. Great product! My old 2120 appears every once in a while. I've never been disappointed with my current 2320.

I have the same problem with little british cars... They're everywhere. There's no such thing as too many.

    VA Saltwater Fishing Tournament Citations

Recently received two citation plaques from the VA Saltwater Fishing Tournament for red and black drum I caught and released last May. The first one was caught on a charter trip with Just Right charters. That's where I learned the how and where. Went out the next day in my Parker and mimiced...

Trip to the mouth of the Chesapeake

Quinby has a fantastic marina, but it's real hard to get in and out of. Don't try it at low tide.

    Out of Hatteras on 2120?

I feel like it's not so much the size of the boat as it is planning and prep. Used to go offshore (60+ miles) from Virginia Beach in my 21 Grady I/O. We used to see guys out there in 18 ft open fishermen with no VHF antenna to be seen! On a good day there are folks out there to help in a real...

    gel coat question

Concur about Marinetex. It's over-rated. I like chopped glass and resin to fill larger holes. Sand below surface then do surface work with dealer-provided matching gelcoat.

    Rudee Inlet Striper Season

Talk about things that are unpredictable! The upcoming blast of cold air may drive stripers south, but historically, you may have to go south from Rudee one week, only to have a blitz at Cape Henry the next.
