    Filter on Rear of Engine

Nevermind just found an explanation on another site. It is a fuel vapor recovery system to capture vapor from the VST when the engine is turned off. It should not have liquid fuel in it, which is probably why Yamaha chose to use an inexpensive zip tie.

    Filter on Rear of Engine

Thanks again Antidote. I noticed from my pictures the tubing is fastened to the filter by plastic zip ties versus a hose or pinch clamp. Seems odd. Is this not typically full of fuel? Is it some type of fuel vapor recovery system?

    Filter on Rear of Engine

Okay got it thanks. Odd its not called out in my owner's manual. I had a 2002 model year F225 and it didn't have one of this setup. It has never been changed in the 3 years I've been running this boat I'll have to get right on it.

    Filter on Rear of Engine

Does anyone recognize these components on the rear of my 2005 Yamaha F225 shown in the photos? And how often they need serviced? I don't see them mentioned or shown in my owner's manual. One of them looks like an "F" fuel filter that is part of the VST system.

    2500 SE - Single 300 or Twin 150’s?

I'm running twin 225's on my 2510 deep vee which I think is a similar hull as the 2500. Its a good setup, I think anything less is underpowered unless you're talking modified V hull. I usually run at 4500 RPM and about 35 MPH. I fish Lake Erie so most of my trips are < 20 minute runs, so fuel...

    2520 with 500 HP

I have a 2510 deep vee with twin 225’s mounted on the 3’rd hole. Awesome setup I wouldn’t go any lower than 400. Nameplate says 500 max.

    Substance from exhaust

FWIW grease doesn't have a shelf life. It will "bleed" a small amount of oil over time but that is what a grease is supposed to do. If it is milky my guess is it is an oil / water emulsion. I would pull the prop and verify the shaft seal is not damaged to eliminate that as a cause.

How Far have you been Offshore in your Parker?

20 miles in my 2510 on Lake Erie which can be like 40 in ocean miles. It’s kind of like dog years. Very steep waves and short period of 5 seconds due to the shallow nature of Erie. Things change quick too. Not uncommon to go from dead flat to 4 footers in an hour.

    2520 ENGINE OPTIONS

Twin F225’s on my 2510 Walkaround DV. I get about 1.7 miles per gallon running at 4200 RPM and 33 mph. For blade props. No problems at all getting up on plane nor staying on plane at slower speeds in rougher water.

    Thoughts on these cracks?

Good observation. Take a close look at the washer shown in the 3'rd picture. You can see where the washer mushroomed. I agree ... over-torqued.

    2300 DV speed issue

Up here on Lake Erie we troll for walleyes from 1.7 MPH early in the season up to 3.2 later in the year. The use of trolling bags is very popular and the only way I know of to get your speed down that low, even with one engine shut off. Most use one bag on each side of the boat tied off to the...

    Favorite cup holders?

Sorry just saw your question. You put a hole in the surface with a holesaw. Then just drop it in with a bead of silicone around the edge. I installed eight of them in less than an hour.

2300DV Rear Hatches - Best cleaner?

Use Soft Scrub, the kind with bleach, and a brush. Apply generously, let marinate in the sun for 10 minutes, light scrub and rinse well. I'm not sure what could be used to seal it but that sounds like a great idea. Maybe Woody Wax to seal?

putrid odor in my 2510 holding tank area

While we're on the subject, I would like to purchase a portable head (I have 3 girls in the family). Can anyone recommend a brand and model that will fit in that area? Thanks in advance.

putrid odor in my 2510 holding tank area

I assume you mean between the seats in the cabin. I don't see anything there so I don't think I have one. I also don't see a fitting on the washboard to pump it out so I think it is safe to assume its not causing my listing. Thanks FishmanJS.

putrid odor in my 2510 holding tank area

I have a 2005 2510. Where is the holding tank located if it has one? I bought it used not sure if it has one; I want to make sure the compartment isn’t full of water. It lists to the starboard wondering if that’s why.
