    Wood inside bow pulpit

1/4 inch, how can you see or measure that movement? Regardless, 1/4 inch is negligible.

    Wood inside bow pulpit

I think you may be referring to a twisting action rather than flexing. Since the AL plate is not extended further back under the pulpit, it will always twist with that level arm like that. Adding starboard to the top probably will not help much, because starboard is not as stiff as you think...

    What's inside the step??

Oh I misread. I believe that space should be empty, but let us know what you find if you cut into it. And post some pics.

    What's inside the step??

Its empty but not much room there. If a marine head was installed from the Parker factory, they added a hatch in the floor to access the piping. I was curious like you, so I cut a hole and installed a hatch. See my post titled: "2520 XL Forward Bilge" There's not much room in there, but you...

1801 vs Sea Hunt 186, all things being "equal"

Whatever boat you think that you want to own, it is always a good idea to spend some time on one, and I don't mean a sea trial before the sale. How do you do that? You need to make friends or go on Charters.

First impressions of my repower with Suzuki

I like that term, "lugging" and the conversations it creates. Anyway, it sounds like the prop is pitched too high.

    Front bilge pump on 2520's

The fix for this is to drill a hole through the hull so the anchor locker drains directly overboard. I have this on my to do list. I have also cut a hole in the cabin floor to access the forward bilge area through a slam hatch which I have posted on here. As info, while the boat is in wet slip...
