    Parker 1801 drain plug

A dedicated small wet vac still seems like the easiest answer IMO.

    Soft spot in deck

FWIW the orings from the above post cross to inch size exactly. # 254 .139 CS x 5.484 ID . A #253 is the same cross section and a slightly smaller diam for a tighter fit. On my covers the orig orings seem to be glued in , anybody else seen this??

    Deck paint

I like the gellcoat and silica sand method as it is a very consistent (even) and durable finish. most of the paint and nonskid jobs I have seen dont look that great. custom boat builders have been using the gellcoat method for years and although it's a multiple coat process it's easy and just...

    Trailer side Bunks, Pros/Cons

Other than removing them to wax I see no down side. I fished on a buddys 2520dv and he had the side bunks , it was a no brainer loading the boat in all conditions.

    Boat Movers for a 2320

Is the trailer condition a concern ? I ask because typically the lowboy is more $ than having the boat and trailer towed. I had my 2520 xld towed from the Great Lakes area to Santa Barbara ca. for 5k buy a firm that does nothing but move boats . For me there were to many horror stories with...

How wide of trim tabs to place on a 2014 XLD

Zeb, if your tabs are really only 12x 9 then yes bigger tabs will help a lot. IF the tabs are the same as my stock ones you may not notice a huge difference . The only way I have got my boat to go through the chop w/o pounding is to slow down . Unlike a downeast style hull to bow on the parker...

How wide of trim tabs to place on a 2014 XLD

Zeb, no worries , glad to help. The tabs are very effective at raising the stern/lowering the bow. You now have the the long skinny (12x20?) tabs , correct? Same as my original mentioned above , correct? What is your speed at 1/2 throttle ? What prop? I ask because I have my boat propped down...

How wide of trim tabs to place on a 2014 XLD

ZEB, I am not sure I understand what you are asking but I will take a stab at it, I set the tabs up so at fully retracted they are above the line of the hull by a bit more than the norm so I have the ability to get little or no contact w/ the water flow if needed. At the time of install I...

How wide of trim tabs to place on a 2014 XLD

Zeb, on my 2012 2520 xld I installed 36 x 12 lencos and used all of the controls that came w/ the boat. Possibly the biggest tabs ever installed on a 2520. I have the same single 300 and 9.9 kicker and the tabs add lift with very little deployment as they effectively lengthen the hull by a foot...

    What's inside the step??

Thanks for the replies. In my 2520xld the step is a sealed box . There is a drain pipe that goes from the vberth floor hold access through the step and ends up in the hold area under the wheelhouse floor. I assumed the drain was a solid pipe through the step but you guys made me realize I don't...

Lowrance hds gen 3 alarms useless ??

Love the unit but the alarm volume is not adjustable and useless at the factory setting. Lowrance C.S. is of no help, they just state "non adjustable" . Anybody figure out a external alarm connection?

    What's inside the step??

Thanks, Baker. My xld already has the hatch in the floor where you cut yours in. My question is about the step as I described. In one of your pics the step is shown aft of the floor cutout .

    What's inside the step??

Has anybody been inside the first step down into the V berth on a 2520 xld? On my boat it's the sealed compartment right forward of the wheelhouse floor making the step down into the V berth. I am interested in using the area inside and don't know if it's foam filled , empty or? Thanks in...

What Wax/ Sealers/coatings do you guys use?

corded , but this is what I use for tight areas with 1 1/2 to 3 " pads of your choice. variable speed trigger control and the angle head make it good for tight areas. https://www.harborfreight.com/35-amp-38-in-variable-speed-close-quarters-drill-57148.html

First impressions of my repower with Suzuki

Maybe this is a subject for another thread, but I would like to know more. I also have some pretty bad harmonics/ drone w/ my 300 uca. Am I understanding correctly that you put something inside the bracket cavity itself? What was it and how did do that as I only have a medium size inspection...

    Parker 2520 XLD repower

I have the single 300 yamaha on a 2025 xld and propped down it does the job well as long as the boat is not heavily loaded in the stern. My choice , if I were to repower would be the 350 suzi dual prop. The gear ratio on all the rest are to high to swing enough prop for the 2520 xld.

    Anti siphon valve question

agreed, unless there is a o-ring of some type it's pipe thread. That being said I have had miss matched npt fittings more than once . if there is any leftover pipe dope in the threads a pipe tap for the female or a wire wheel for the male can also be necessary . I have had to tap the female...
