Just finished a complete rebuild on this and the original Volvo ad41a inboard diesel runs Awsome!

Had the boat out on the salmon grounds over the weekend, old 41a runs like a Swiss watch, fuel burn was an average of 2.2 miles per gallon, everything worked as expected. Now that it’s done I need another project lol

We salvaged the bow rail from a boat that was gonna get crushed in the yard was close enough to what we wanted not perfect but price was right. I’m really happy on how this thing came out. It hits me about 3 inches above the knee perfect height for locking your leg in the slop

Did a shake down yesterday still have a few things to do but she’s running good!

Been plugging away. been busy on the property getting ready for fire season,finally got some time to work on the boat.

Thanks Andy, I brought the boat to a Volvo specialist for the drive and engine installation hopefully will have more pictures and maybe even a sea trial video in a couple weeks after i finish the electrical/ install the gauges etc. I’m looking forward to seeing the burn rate numbers as well...

I’m in the process of doing a total rebuild on a 1990 2520 this is what I came up with for my stuff also going to add a second removable starboard bulkhead behind console for auto pilot computer and black boxes auto pilot pump etc

is there anyone on here who knows the specs on setting the injection pump timing on the 41 series volvo engines, i read somewhere its 1.60-1.80mm TDC but i can't find anything to confirm and want to be sure before i stuff this pig back in the boat thanks in advance, squid
