    New Parker, New Additions

I actually found another leak in the cabin while working on it one night. It was raining hard while I was messing with audio cables and saw a heavy drip on the port side. It was coming from one of the bolts that hold the cleat on that is by the fresh water fill up cap. I fixed it, and I think I...

    New Parker, New Additions

Here are more pics. I know a lot are going to say that I should have taken it back to the dealer. My wife told me to do that exact thing. I was not going to do that, didn't make any sense at all to me. I saw their shit work and was not about to have them fix one thing to create 3 others that...

    New Parker, New Additions

A few have read my posts in other areas here and asked what I have been up to. The conversation quickly led to a more technical one in regards to what I was doing at present. Figured I would create a thread on that topic in hopes it may help some out and also serve as to sharp shoot my work. A...

Its going to be 6 months, from August until January. Classes are from 3:00 to 9:00pm Mon-Thursday. They will certify you on 5 or 6 different manufactures engines (to include Yamaha) and go into electronics rigging. Think I am going to contact one of the local marina's in September about a two...

Yeah, very irresponsible. Guess they thought I would never know the difference. I told them I was about to retire from the military and go to marine mechanic school. You would think by me telling them that they would understand that I have OCD and check everything and I am interested in digging...

Also did the 20hr service, but just decided to do everything the 100hr called for. The only thing I did not change where the on board fuel/ water separators. I could not find any Yamaha filters, but I do have a couple sierras sitting in my shop just incase. Actually called Yamaha up to ask a...

Still need to tidy up a few things and install the stints for the battery monitors. Also need to figure out where to terminate the breakers for the electric reel outlets and the upgraded speakers. I am counting amps and buss bars to see where it makes sense. Thinking about getting another buss...

Good, actually been working on the boat a lot the past 2 weeks so I have not been fishing. I should hopefully be wrapping everything up Sunday or Monday. It all started when I noticed that the Garmin was not sending way points to the Optimus Cantrak display. I spoke with the dealer and he put...

    Network Re-Build

I bought all Ancor marine connectors for both of the networks I need to re-build. One 4 port for the private network (Optimus) with one of the Ancor marine backbone cables. The private network is receiving power from the Optimus components and was told not to power that network. For N2K I have 4...

    Network Re-Build

I am in the process of re-building the network on my Parker and have a few questions that I have not really been able to find the answers for. It is a brand new 2520XLD with twin Yamaha F200's, Garmin 8612, Optimus 360, Fusion radio, CL5 display, Garmin VHF 115 and a Garmin GMR Fantom 24x radar...

    Snapper Time

I caught a few rainbows and browns. I didn't get pics, it was kind of difficult to manage a slippery fish, phone and fly rod all at the same timeo_O. I did manage to take a pic of one of the trout my buddy caught though. Colorado is about a 3 1/2 - 4hr flight, not to bad.

It was good and calm, trigger fish decided to come up from the bottom and hang around the boat. I tried to get one on my fly rod, they all turned on it and a few took the fly but I couldn’t get the hook set. Think I need to tie a few flies with small sharp hooks for their mouths. took her up to...

    Snapper Time

Picked up the new boat a couple weeks ago and got use to everything just in time for opening weekend of Red Snapper on the Gulf of Mexico. Took my wife's cousin and nephews out Saturday and then spent Sunday as a father son fishing trip with one of my best friends.

    New guy checking in

Everything went pretty good today, minus needing a 32GB micro SD card for the chart plotter in order to update it. Stopped by Office Depot and picked one up so next time down to the marina I will get the chart plotter up to date. Apparently the Optimus Camtrak display wont pick up on a route...

    New guy checking in

Thats a good idea actually, as a side note I am about to retire from the military and plan on using my last six moths attending a marine service and technology course at a local technical school. Figure mine as well since Uncle Sam will pay for it. Not sure exactly what I want to do once I get...

    New guy checking in

Sure will, probably will head back out on Sunday. Somehow all my electronics were hard reset, the dealer is coming by on Saturday to load all the settings back up. I noticed that my camtrak display for the Optimus 360 system was shifted to the left and I was not able to read the entire screen...
