The shot of your forward hatch plus the length confirm it is an 1800. This Classic Parker research stuff is fun. Got me to thinking that maybe the powers that be could have a repository for brochures, blueprints, etc.

Maybe, maybe not. The hull designs and equipage have changed a lot over the model years. Most reliable way that I’ve found is if you have the boxes at the corners of the transom, it’s an 1800. If the transom corners are open with just a wire chase, it’s a 1700.
 
I was checking out your 17’ , that’s a nice set up you’ve got! I’m still waiting for parker to get back to me but I’m pretty sure it’s a 1800. I was going to foam the sides of the tank and use chocks as stated. This is the way we did it in our old 18’ mako, and 22’ guardian and we never had any issues. One thing i’m having trouble remembering is how we plumb the bait tank. i was thinking of doing a thru-hull with a seacock then mount a dual outlet livewell pump so i can add a raw wash down as well. but i’m not sure where to send the drain, i feel like thru the bottom creates too much back pressure, but i also don’t want to drill through my transom.
Livewell drains through transom, slightly lower than bottom of tank. Its typically below the waterline so make sure it’s valved.
 
IF you had the boxes in the rear you would dump on the side. I guess you still could and make a chase to conceal it.
I do have small boxes in the rear , you can see in the original post. So that’s where I wanted to put the outlet, but man it’s tight getting hands down in there to get the level low enough to be below the bottom of the livewell. Maybe I can make it work though. Is this how yours is plumbed?
 
Mine doesn't have one but I feel your pain with how tight it is in there. I'm going to put tabs on mine and with my big mitts it'll be a challenge feeding through there.

So what's the vote on a retro fit drain? Through the transom or out the side? Any benefit verses one over the other?
As long as its below the water line right? and you would see a siphon effect underway yes?

Has anyone put a pilot house on a center console parker? I’m thinking of going this route instead of a t-top.

IF you go that route....Spend the money.....Get a opening front window.....Yes it's more expensive. You will thank me later when your able to get some air on you on those sweltering days.
 
I've been on the look out for something practical. I would like it to be convenient so I could put it on in the colder weather.

The pilothouse is from Pacific Pilot House. My dad Don is the one who designed their original molds around 20 years ago and basically built that company from the ground up. i’ve attached a picture of a parker he did in the past. I wonder if he’s a member of CP?

Update on the 1800.
Laid up the mold for the dash for the pilothouse and got it all finished up for the most part other than some trimming for fitment. Got a roof glassed on it, but still working on some shaping before paint. Test fit the dash, it was way too tight in the photo, i’ve got to trim up the flange a bit in the front and it should slide forward atleast another 8”. Got the fuel tank installed and reglassed the deck after replacing all the soft spots with new marine grade plywood. Glassed in a pad in the bilge for the seacock for my live well, and pretty much got all the body work done. Hoping to have everything ready to paint in the next few weeks, then time for the build.

Then THAT would be Isenglass you want...... A unit that the subject of this thread is on, would need to be a much more permanent fixture.

My 1700 has the two boxes, can’t tell if they were added.

Yeah, and my 1800 just has the wire chase . Mine is a 94’ and parker still took custom orders back then. Whoever purchased the boat then opted for more deck space over storage. Your 1700 looks great! are the battery’s in the rear box or in the console? Everyone always moves them up to the console for better weight distribution.

I have the cranking battery in the back hatch and two trolling motor batteries under the console.

Awesome work bro, I was looking a pacific pilothouse units and they were like 8k!!! U saved yourself some serious coin and it looks insane. Windows and radar cap with some rocket launchers on top! That’s an inshore Fishermans dream in the NE. Excellent job
 
It’s been slow going with work and everything in between, but here we are. We’ve finally got around to slapping some lipstick on this pig. We put down a coat of hibuild primer blocked it down and layed down another coat of hi build then came back and sprayed three coats of Proline Bulwark blue and snow white for the color combo. Super happy with the results. Most of the hard work is done. I just need to hit the lotto to afford an outboard for this thing. I’ve got the rub rail aswell as some other odds and ends on the way. Although I still need to finish the deck anti-skid and the three spots on the underside of the hull were it is currently sitting. That should only take me a day or two. We’ll get this thing pieced back together here soon enough and it might start looking like a fishing boat again. I must say that whole bust out another thousand thing is on another level these days, we haven’t even got to the expensive stuff yet and I might start having to dip into my fishing funds to afford a GPS/Fishfinder. What’s everyone’s favorite Simrad, Furuno,Garmin,Lowrance,ect? I’m leaning toward Simrad/Furuno but man $$$$. Speaking of fishing here’s a bonus picture of a recent bluefin I got out of San Diego on the live flyer. Hopefully we’ll get some like this on the boat next season and all this hard work will feel well paid off. That’s enough boat work for now, I’m gonna go sit on the beach for a week or so and unwind. Then back to reality and we’ll get this thing buttoned up.
