The adventure begins. Pulled console, Leaning post and Live well. Cut the deck and pulled the tank. The big surprise is that the tank was primarily bolted in with VERY LITTLE FOAM used! (See photos). My tank builder is pretty backed up so I’m looking for a recommendation of a reputable tank builder in Anne Arundel county or south otherwise I’ll wait. Sending leaning post out for recover and polish. Glass guy is scheduled to patch up old screw and bolt holes. More to follow.

What type of glass used to repair the cutout? and what type of resin is he using? I"m waiting for my tank to be built and will put back together soon I hope.

Wow, that’s a lot of dirt under that leaning post/ bait tank. You may want to seal that well on the reinstall.

Not sure - sorry. I'll check in and ask but I'm not particularly involved with that part. I'm still waiting for my tank to finish fabrication also.

West systems 105 and hardener is the way to go. Tried and true. Also their fiberglass clothe is excellent.

How funny, im not sure if you remeber but when your boat was getting hauled out I spoke with you briefly I believe. You and your son were at oak grove marina ramp and I told you I had the same boat and am located up the hill as a tech at the dealership. Florida marine tanks has been good to us as long as you have measurements. I hate to say it, but able marine next door would have taken care of you for sure....Jeff's a great guy.

You are correct. I checked with my mechanic and asked what he thought. Turns out the live well has always been only screwed down, no caulk no seal at the base. We will remedy that when we reinstall. I guess the question is -
Were 2000 se live wells sealed at the base?

Did you find any wetness and if so, how is the water getting in?
Tank showed a good bit of corrosion but no leaks YET so I have to assume there was at least a lot of moisture around it. We have not yet removed the foam but some digging into it did not present more than some slight moisture.
As for how water gets in I’ll defer to more knowledgeable people here. Warthog5 comes to mind.

My 04-05 Se isn't sealed at the base. I was hoping parker atleast sealed every screw they drilled into. You can easily tell the livewell/seats arent sealed while cleaning the boat, water flows right through. The same is with the console, best solution I saw was a company adding pvc tube where all wiring came up; (about 2 inches tall and well sealed) to prevent water into bilge.

Took me a bit but I do remember. I guess the boat was being transported to a shop that day. Appreciate the tip re Abel Marine and I'll keep it in mind for the future.
PS - Got my new tank back yesterday. Had them build it with 1/4' thick Aluminum and the welds that look like rows of dimes! Sweet

Not a problem, I remember you telling me about your leaning post and they basically used the same mounting holes. You and your son didn't see eye to eye but as a family you all made the right choice. I enjoy my captains seats but would love a bench/,launcher combo. I'm happy your happy with the work done....maybe we can speak at the marina in the future
