That looks fantastic!
Thanks for sharing, it looks solid and to have structural rigidity of the original, if not better. That's what makes these boats so great.

Parker uses 3/8 Aluminum plates for custom backing for t top and leaning posts.

There was a thread on THT recently on a new Parker CC with a dealer installed T top getting loose, it was screwed to the deck (by a dealer?), IIRC.

update: applied 1708 biaxl to the front and rear seams as well as over fillet on sides where decking is tabbed to hull.

started to do some fairing as well. All work done with west systems expoxy resin and 404 (fillet and peanut butter) and 407 (fairing) fillers.

I’m Planning to also lay 6oz cloth over entire new decking area before painting - prolly overkill - but existing deck had a layer of glass so I’m going that way.

still trying to determine what bedding material to use for new hatch installations. was thinking life caulk but it’s says it’s not good for plastic .... hmmm ? 4200 or other ? May start a new thread for this question.

the existing deck has a layer of “ rhino liner “ on it - almost 1/8” thick ! I’m gonna need plenty of fairing match that up I think.

this is taking way longer than I thought , good thing I’m not getting paid and fishing is slow or I’d be really feeling it !

Are you painting or gelcoating the deck? I would take off the console and t top and go down to fiberglass. I would than fair it as a whole and gel coat after. yYou can attach the deck with epoxy plus cabosil mixture. they also make esther base thick compounds to attach deck. Just remember that esther resins do not stick well to epoxies, but epoxy stick well to resin

That looks to be as strong as new - straight out Parker factory, a tough standard to follow, these boats are totally overbuilt by today's standards. You are doing it right!

Swatski - thanks for the positive comments and support. It helps ! I‘ve been feeling bogged down, I know end is in site and gotta keep pushing.

fishaddict, thanks for the feedback. I’m painting deck with primer and nonskid paint. No way I’m taking off console and tower - that stuff is solid and area has multiple layers of paint (and rhino liner) over original Parker deck. My challenge is blending edges in old decking area to new without any visible edge. ill post more pics soon !

Hi, Im down in San Diego and about to do a similar job to by 21 CC DV. Im just starting to research how and what to do. Id love to talk to you about what materials you chose and why. Lessons learned and such. Like you I have little fiberglass experience outside of surfboard repair.
Im thinking about coosa board but havent decided just yet. What is the material you put between the new deck and the sides of the hull prior to tabbing?
Any advise will be appreciated.
The Bluefin are here and close!!!!!

Well I’ve been quiet awhile. Wrapped up project but had a minor health issue that sidelined me for a bit and was otherwise occupied.
I’ll post wrap up pics and report ASAP.

pastthebarb - happy to chat
