Had some unexpected surgery a couple of weeks ago so I figured now would be a great time to do some upgrades on the boat since I’ll be out of commission for a few weeks.
The first thing that I wanted to do was to get rid of the factory captains chairs and have a leaning post built & installed.

After removing the pedestals I had the holes glasses over a new gelcoat shot on top of the bait tank.

Then took it over to a local fabricator who built the leaning post that I wanted and did the final install.

We’re still waiting for the storage tray that will fit under the flip up seat to come back from the powder coated.

Next, we installed a 20” LED combination light on top of the tee top. I run out a lot of mornings early and it will be nice for momentary on off operation to help spot channel markers. I was really impressed with the output.

Next we relocated the batteries from the in floor factory location near the stern to inside the center console. I replaced my old batteries with group 27 AGM and installed a BEP cluster after Warthog5 pointed me in the right direction. We then built a divider out of starboard and placed it in the rear of the original battery storage compartment to create a new in floor storage compartment.

Last item to go is a built in tackle station. I had Boat Outfitters build one that would fit the area that I had. It’ll hold 5ea 3650 boxes and have a pull out drawer at the bottom. They tell me they should have it cut in and installed this week.

Solid upgrades. Nice work!

I’m planning on moving my batteries from the bilge to cabin in my 2320. So I appreciate you posting this even though we have different boats.

So what BEP cluster did u choose and why? Also curious why you need 3 batteries for single outboard ? 1 house and 2 starting batteries for engine???

I wanted the BEP cluster to truely isolate the two batteries. The group 27 batteries are for the house & starting batteries.
The other battery is a 36v lithium ion battery for my Rhodan trolling motor that operates independently from the other two.

The 36V Lithium is independent of the House & Start.... Trolling motor battery /Batteries are a complete independent system. They have their own special charger.

Would you mind sharing who fibricated the leanpost and the gelcoat work to the livewell? I'm in the Wilmington area and would like to make some similar upgrades to my SE. Nice touches and thanks.

Awesome upgrades! Also glad to hear the surgery went well and you’re on your way to recovery.

You’ll love the tackle station. Having tools, rigs and lures right there easy to access is really great. Boat Outfitters makes outstanding products.

For the leaning post. Stuart is a great guy.
I’ll dm you the guy that I use for fiberglass work. He doesn’t get in a hurry but his work is outstanding and he’s reasonably priced.

We ended up changing out the backing plate on the trolling motor while I had it out working on it. They texted me these pictures yesterday afternoon once the detail was complete.
Can’t wait to get down there and get it out!
