Boating from Bonita Springs, Bonita Bay Marina, coming east on the Imperial River, across Fish Trap Bay heading north to New Pass and the Gulf. Some days at low tide the depth gauge reads 2' in some areas.
So how much can I tilt up the motors? Some say as long as the tell-tail hole is peeing out water and the anti-cavitation plate is not above the water I am okay. The MFD is then flashing "red" on the trim gauge.
Thanks
Jay

As ,long as the tell tail is peeing, you are getting enough cooling water to the engine. The AC plate out of the water will cause cavitation if you are at cruise speed. It won't be a problem if you are just tooling along. Personally, I wouldn't navigate 2' waters at speed. Another consideration is, where is your transducer zeroed to. I set mine to be -18" so the water depth I show is the water under the skegs not the hull.
