FYI - a few people considering a DIY 2nd helm like I did, have questioned "how much" room the cables & wiring take up behind the Capt's seat? This picture should show you they do take up some real estate, but note I bought the aux control cables 2' too short :roll: argghhh.
I believe the wires/cables could be dressed right up against the bulkhead and you'd lose maybe 2" at most, less where the Teleflex Seastar helm itself projects into the cabin. I had a few dilemmas besides ordering "too short" cables
doh, ... as I had that existing fishing tool holder there and I wanted to keep its functionality.
