Fall is the time for big striped bass off northern New Jersey. Unfortunately, thresher sharks are also around then too but not targeted. This one was about 125 pounds and had us busy for about 35 minutes on the trolling gear meant for the stripers before we were able to release it. We have a slot limit of 28' - 38" here in NJ so the big bass such as these are always released. The smaller fish between 28"-30" taste better anyway.
