Bottom paint on yamaha trim motor area?

Should this area have bottom paint? The yard did not paint it when they gave the boat a fresh coat last fall!

No.....The typical Bottom paint would eat it up.....There are anti foul paints made especially for Outboards.....And I believe they are available in Clear also. It's that same for a alum bracket
 
Prop guard in a spray can by Pettit works pretty good without getting build-up, it's pretty much just zinc but will prevent attachment of sea critters. Anything made "for" aluminum such as outdrive antifouling in spay would work as well, but the prop guard can be used on your sender as well.
 
thanks y'all, I power washed and sprayed with a can of trilux 33. I'll report back in a few months and see how it goes.
