So I had to pull the boat out in prime time fishing season for some unexpected repairs and was thinking about bottom paint while I have the boat out of the water for a few weeks. It would be the first time for me putting paint on this boat and I’m not sure what’s on it. Does it need to be compatible with aluminum for the swim platform and is the a brand paint to use that good going over existing paint. The current paint isn’t flaking but is starting to get thin. Any recommendations would be great.
Thanks

It is always best to go with what is on now. At least go with the same type. Is it Ablative? You can tell if it is if it rubs off on your hand when you rub up against it. I would also ask what people in your area are using. Every area has different water characteristics and some are better than others in your particular area. On a personal note I have always used Pettit Vivid with good results.
