Creating Route in Navionics and Transferring to Active Captain and Garmin Chartplotter

Hi all- while pulling my hair out trying to answer the “do I need to subscribe to the Navionics app if I also have Active Captain and Garmin Plotters” question- I came upon a helpful link explaining how to pre-fish, or pre-plot in Navionics and transfer to Active Captain and then your on-boat plotters when next at the docks. If anyone has thoughts on whether subscribing to Navionics is unnecessarily duplicative when already using ActiveCaptain and Garmin plotters with updated maps I would appreciate the advice.

Also- how often do folks update their “local” charts on your mapping software? Yearly? Thanks!
