My wife decided to go on something larger than a Parker. We joined a boating couple and his cousin for a cruise a week before X-Mas, Norwegian Serenade of the Seas, 900' long. Some other cruise ships were in some of the ports. I've added some in, Holland America, other Norwegians.

They had a suite in the stern and we had a cabin next one up from them on the starboard side.

We left the morning after a foot of snow fell overnight and missed another 6 inches while we were gone.

How did it handle the chop?

Nice photos, btw.

First night had around 10' waves leaving Puerto Rico and could feel it a bit clearing the island. Land lubbers noticed it more. Nothing tipping, just a curtain sway and some occasional course correction.

Another night somewhat shorter waves and again I could see the curtains sway. There were some people on it wearing patches behind the ear and my wife wore a sea band for a few hours the first night only.

Those two times you could see waves going back and forth across the pools on the ship.

The theatre and casino were in the bow and you could feel some of it more there or where our cabins were in the stern with the waves passing and the adjustments.

Otherwise it was fine. Some occasional feel when you walked. Nobody spilling things, falling, or things getting cancelled.

When she said she wanted to do the cruise with them I said OK but you can't be disappointed in a 25' boat after and I kept reminding her while she was on it!

Gee, I wonder how the cruise ship with the deep vee bottom would have handled that chop!

Macho man that I am, I never get seasick on boats. If I want to puke, I have to ride the Magic Teacups at Dizzyworld, or ride on an upside down roller coaster. One turn on Magic Teacups and I am ready for the barn.

My family and four other families took a Thanksgiving cruise out of Baltimore to the carribean. There were 10 kids in our group between 7 and 14, needless to say they all had a blast.
