Hi Big Papa, I have the same 2014 300 Yamaha. It is what CP folks call 'fly-by-wire', meaning electronic/digital; electric-wires only. It does not use cables for throttle nor for gear shifting.
By the way; hard to ignore the gator! We have a few gators in North Carolina;.. we try not to swim with them. ☺
