Do you run the boat with the kicker in the down position?

I have a fix bracket and a 9.9 Yamaha high thrust with no power tilt. Reach over to lower the motor can be pretty dangerous.

Curious if I should just run the boat with the kicker in the down position?

Not a good idea. You’ll be dragging the kicker through the water potentially causing damage and effecting fuel economy.

I’ve forgotten to trim up my kicker on my past boat and lucky no damage occurred.

Noticed you have a T9.9 kicker on yours, is it power trim/tilt?

Did you simply added power trim and rigged it up or did you replace the motor?

A competent marine mechanic can remove the tiller and install controls. My 9.9 came with the tiller then added controls later on.
