Buying a 2520 XL 2006. Yamaha 250 has 190 compression in all cylinders accept for two which have 125 and 150. Any advice? Dealer is going to try running a decarb through it and see if it clears up. If it does not clear up how much money should be knocked off the asking price in the event it blows up a few years down the road? 10k? or run?

Run unless you getting amazing deal. How many hours on outboard?

Boat should be priced as a repower. Its better to repower before the blow so at least you can get trade value
A leakdown test is what you want to do, forget about compression for now

New power head is 10k. Just sold boat that had similar issue. I came to an agreement with the buyer and reduced the price. It mostly depends on the end price of the boat and the value from your perspective. If you think it’s a good deal regardless of a price reduction you have the option of a new power head or new engine. Either way my advice if you’re going forward would be to check the availability of the power head or new engine in case that factors into your plans.
