my garmin seems to be gradually declining?

temperature reads as -43, but no icebergs
bottom scan/depth profile only works at slow trolling speeds, i've tried several frequency settings

has anyone else had to diagnose this?
do i suspect the transducer and can i replace it?

thanks for any tips you might have
paul

I would check to make sure the correct transducer is selected in the settings

If it is a thru hull start planning to replace it. The water temp usually goes first then the rest it will fail.

just to close the loop, i got another gt-15m inhull garmin transducer. i tried to reuse the older mounting ring, but it had been installed using silicone, not adhesive. when i filled it up with mineral oil, it separated from the hull/bilge. bummer!

new one seems to be working fine - my temp sender is a stand alone unit with its own cable back to the head unit, so that will have to go on the christmas list.

thanks for the pointers y'all.
