I just upgraded from a 942xs. The 943 odometer reading resets after every shutdown. The odometer reading accumulated on the 942 and I could reset just the trip odometer. Any idea what setting I'm missing here?

Resetting Trip Gauges

  1. Select Info > Trip & Graphs > Trip.
  2. Select an option:

    • To set all the readings for the present trip to zero, select Reset Trip.

    • To set the maximum speed reading to zero, select Reset Maximum Speed.

    • To set the odometer reading to zero, select Reset Odometer.

    • To set all the readings to zero, select Reset All.

The problem is, I don't want to set the overall odometer and it's resetting itself after every power down. The 942 kept the overall odometer reading.

I will make sure the firmware is up to date. I turn the unit off with it's own on-off button.

I'll have to check the wiring diagrams. I just unplugged the 942 and plugged in the 943. Same plug for the powder chord. Any power would be shut off when I turn off the main switch anyway.

I updated the firmware today and went for a short ride. It's the first time I've been on it for a month. Last time was a trip from Adams Creek to Oceacoke and it retained the odometer reading from that trip. Must have to hold my mouth just right for it to work.
