How's everyone retrieving their boat when trailering?

I have guide posts on the back of my trailer. They give you a guide as you motor on to the trailer and keep the stern from drifting off. I try to get the trailer out far enough that I can use the winch to crank it up tight after I make contact. I use a ramp with a dock. If I have help I’ll drive the boat onto the trailer while the helper directs and attaches the winch hook. When I’m by myself I guide the boat on with the bow line. The posts are adjusted to have less than an inch of clearance on either side. Some people adjust them snug against the rub rails, but I find that makes it hard to pull the boat on with the bow line.

Its so hard for me not to weigh in on this one because I love physics so much. But I agree lets get back to splashing boats.
I couldnt resist the pun...sorry :)
