Yep, still fishing, I just started fishing a few years ago.
Life long diver - spearfishing, at 60, still enjoy diving more.

With the closure this year, the bay is getting hammered , but everything back to normal this week... Oh ya!

Both, freediving ( no tanks ) and with tanks. Tank bubbles tend spook fish so freediving is often more productive.
California, abalone is only freediving. ( was, it’s over now )
No spear fishing salmon, ever, so I took up fishing.

Depends on how deep, tank size and excitement level
80cf tank in 60’ lasts 30 to 40 min.
60ct tank in the shallows can last over an hour
