Welcome aboard. There’s a 2520 diesel here in Jacksonville Florida.
I talked to him one day at the ramp.
He loves his diesel. He said he strictly fished overnight, because it takes so long to get there. Once he’s at the fishing grounds, he doesn’t want to leave and make the trek home. So he drops anchor and bottom fishes all night until the sun comes up next day... then make his way in...
Like I said, he loves his diesel 2520.

Thanks! Seems like a good group here compared to other sites and lots of knowledge as well. The Diesel engine (Volvo turbo after cooled 41a) was one of the main reasons I picked up the boat. I plan on doing a lot of commercial trip fishing up and down the coast as well as 6 pack charters so the boat will see a lot of the fuel dock lol

Hi Mastersquid, welcome to CP, and great job on the 're-build'! Thank you for posting the pictures....
There are not many diesel Parkers out there and I'd love to hear more about it; the fuel-burn specs; mpg. gph. cruise-speed and such.... I look forward to seeing more pictures as your re-build progresses.....

Thanks Andy, I brought the boat to a Volvo specialist for the drive and engine installation hopefully will have more pictures and maybe even a sea trial video in a couple weeks after i finish the electrical/ install the gauges etc. I’m looking forward to seeing the burn rate numbers as well hoping for 2- 2.5 mpg and around a 20-25 knot cruise with load props fully loaded with 7 crew fuel and ice. I’m not sure what to expect those numbers could be totally unreasonable lol!

Hi @masterquid
I just picked up the same boat as yours and going through all the planning stages before I strip her down to the stringers. Would appreciate a followup on how yours turned out so far.

That blue hull is beautiful, and your tall, double-bow rail is a great feature; I wish it was a standard item on all boats.... On boats in this size range, a rail should be high enough to hit the average sized person, about mid thigh.

We salvaged the bow rail from a boat that was gonna get crushed in the yard was close enough to what we wanted not perfect but price was right. I’m really happy on how this thing came out. It hits me about 3 inches above the knee perfect height for locking your leg in the slop

Had the boat out on the salmon grounds over the weekend, old 41a runs like a Swiss watch, fuel burn was an average of 2.2 miles per gallon, everything worked as expected. Now that it’s done I need another project lol
