In a futile attempt of replacing the PV on the engine, the grommet fought tooth and nail, eventually passing thru the opening into the water jacket. I turned on the hose at the static flush port in hopes of getting it back to the opening. I saw it twice, but each time when I tried with long tweezers it was pushed out of the way. I couldn't get a grip on it. Now it's gone forever in the water jacket. How screwed am I? Is there a trick to working in such a confined area? I can't get two fingers on the housing or to replace the 4 parts.

I used to own a 1999 225 OX66 for 20 years and whenever I serviced the poppet, I'd move the ECU out of the way. If I remember correctly, it was just two large plugs on the bottom, unplugged those and used a piece of string to secure it up and out of the way. Piece of cake getting at the poppet then.
