Just installed SeaDek covering on my 2320. Put it on my last boat about a decade ago and it made a big difference. The non-skid was applied on top of the deck not molded in and the deck would get too hot to stand on without shoes. Tried Dri-Dek tiles, solved the heat problem but that was tough on the feet too. Started with SeaDek in one area and it worked so well I ended up pretty much covering the aft deck and cabin floor. I really like the product and the folks I worked with at the company.
SeaDek has file templates for some manufacturers but Parker isn’t one of them so that means patterning the area. I figured this couldn’t be the first 2320 they did so I asked for a file that was similar to my boat. They gave me one, thought I could make some edits and get out of most of the patterning. I’ll skip the details, but if I had it to do again I would have started with a roll of mylar and made my own – it would have been less work.
Couple of improvements from the last installation. Their instructions called for 3M tape primer and the two handed laminate roller…did both and I think I got better adhesion and no bubbles.
We put 5mm aqua camo panels on the aft deck. I’m a creature of habit on a boat…walk the same path, grab the rails in the same place and this pattern doesn’t show wear or spots. For the interior we decided to do their fish scale pattern that’s made up of two 3mm pieces. Once it’s on the deck its fine, but we found it really easy to tear along the black lines where it’s reduced to 3mm thickness during installation.
I’ll be doing the aft deck again when the fuel tank starts to leak, but hopefully that will be a ways off. Made a big enough difference in the last boat so that unless it happens real soon I think it’s worth the investment. I thought being close to the SeaDek facility this time would be an advantage but the COVID restrictions took that away. Had a great customer service rep and she made sure everything went smoothly using FedEx. Happy to share more details if you're interested.
