You wouldn't think that thieves would hit a closed Military Installation with armed guards, but that is exactly what happend this last week. At least five (5) boats were broken into and fishing gear and electronics taken.
I lost four St. Croix jigging rods and a small tool box. Cover was open and the cabin door was forced open. No damage to the boat, but I'm out about $800 in fishing rods/reels. I normally don't leave anythng of value on the boat, but this last Monday, I was in a hurry to get the boat cleaned, covered, and get back home. Didn't think much about leaving the four rods/reel combos on board. I got lazy once, but never again. Will have to go back to my old habits and remove everything.
